Job Title:      Senior Legal Assistant
Reports to:  Legal and Compliance Director
Grade:        4
Salary:          £26,000 - £28,500

Summary of role

  • To provide assistance to the legal and compliance director in order to support the strategic goals, priorities and project plans of ACE
  • To support the chief executive in the administration and implementation of ACE Board related activities
  • To identify, champion and support initiatives within the remit and responsibility of the Legal and Compliance Group
  • To provide administrative support and to co-ordinate the activities of all groups under the remit of the Legal and Compliance Group
  • To work with ACE senior management staff and key industry stakeholders in developing and delivering business enhancement services to ACE members

 Responsibilities 

 

  • Report to the legal and compliance director
  • Provide general and administrative support to the Legal and Compliance Group and to co-ordinate the activities and actions arising from the  Group
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of ACE’s various Groups and Task Force activities
  • Provide administrative support to the chief executive for all corporate and board related matters to include producing and delivery of board minutes, reports and all associated documentation
  • To act as the key point of contact with regards to ACE Agreements and their development both in hardcopy and digitally
  • To act as first point of contact for members enquiries via ACE Business Helpline
  • Research and report preparation
  • To work with and support the Policy Team with regard to consultation and lobbying activities
  • Providing support to the Operational Management Group to assist in the development of ACE’s business plan
  • Provide consultancy support to member firms or third party stakeholders as necessary
  • To project manage activities identified within the overall ACE Corporate Programme as appropriate
  • To work with the Regional Manager in supporting regional activities
  • To represent ACE at international conferences, seminars, exhibition and other activities as appropriate
  • To provide legal and commercial assistance to the ACE International Business Group programme.
  • To provide support with regard to ACE Corporate Compliance activities.

 

Personal Specification

 

  • Legal executive or equivalent qualification
  • A motivated starter/finisher with an eye for attention to detail
  • Demonstrable excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills, with ability to command respect and trust at all levels
  • Previous experience within the construction/engineering sector is desirable
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentational skills
  • Ability to write and implement reports and plans
  • Commercial awareness
  • Good sense of initiative

Job Title: Regional Representative/Coordinators (Contract)
Remuneration: £26,100 (Pro Rata)

ACE is seeking to engage part time (1 day a week) regional coordinators to cover its activities in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, North West and Midlands.  You will be responsible for the delivery and successful implementation of ACE regional group activities in your focus area. You will build connections with ACE member companies, political stakeholders, client organisations and other relevant organisations within your defined geographical area. You will deliver the regional membership acquisition and Key Account Management retention strategy for ACE.

Candidates must be home based within their focus region and have a strong understanding of, and enthusiasm for members’ businesses and how they are connected with wider the construction Industry. A proven track record of dealing with political stakeholders and public sector clients is required. You will be an excellent communicator with strong influencing and negotiating skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, having a sound knowledge of the consultancy and engineering sector.


Summary of role

  • To be responsible for delivery and successful implementation of ACE Regional Groups activities within a defined geographical area. (20%)
  • To deliver the regional membership acquisition and KAM retention strategy to grow market share (40%)
  • To build connections with ACE member companies, political stakeholders, client organisations and other relevant organisations within a defined geographical area (20%)
  • To act as a representative of ACE within a defined geographical area. (5%)
  • To provide support to ACE’s Policy and External Affairs and Commercial teams (5%)
  •  To work with ACE senior management staff and key industry stakeholders in developing and delivering business enhancement services to ACE members

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and support ACE’s Regional Groups, including developing meeting agendas and execution of follow-up actions in conjunction with the group chairs and ACE Regional Manager
  • Organise and conduct meetings with key stakeholders within a defined geographical area, thereby building ACE’s connections and strategic relationships
  • Provide regular reports on developments and activities within a defined geographical area to the Policy and External Affairs Team
  • Support the delivery of representational strategies within a defined geographical area
  • Represent ACE on panels and committees where necessary
  • Provide strategic leadership in implementation of KAM process for the region
  • Provide state of business past and future on regional activities and maintain regular dialogue with regional members and stakeholders.
  • Provide regional coordination for acquisition and retention of members and grow market shares.
  • Provide support to the ACE Commercial Group in meeting with current and potential ACE member companies as and when necessary
  • Provide proactive support to the OMG in the successful delivery of the ACE corporate plans.

Person specification

  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Home-based within their focus region
  • A proven track record of dealing with public sector clients and political stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of, and enthusiasm for  members business and how they are connected with wider construction industry
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • A clean UK driving licence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations, organise, prioritise and schedule work assignments
  • Ability to work in a team and to manage own workload
